Give your congregation the gift of a worship series full of hope for the future! And give yourself the gift of time and ease–taking the stress out of planning worship that is meaningful and memorable.
The butterfly has long been a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus, as well as our own resurrection as we emerge from the power of fear and death. In this series, we will consider the process of metamorphosis as a guide to examine our own transformations from cocoons and tombs to the unfurled beauty of all God calls us to be. This series can be used as an Easter Season series OR any time of year you need to focus on new life!
Series Theme
We are using the word "emerging" a lot these days. We are slowly emerging from the pandemic and we are cautiously finding our way "back to normal." But wait! Not so fast. Do we really want to just go back to the way things were (as if we really could)? Or do we want to be transformed by our experience and find new ways to appreciate the blessedness of life? This series will give you the opportunity to ask these questions and reflect on your community's ability to transform and fly to new heights–perhaps in a different form, but beautiful nonetheless.
Butterflies are a timeless and powerful symbol of metamorphosis, change, growth, and renewal. Caterpillars spin a cocoon around themselves and turn into a goo inside, breaking down completely so that they can reform and break out of their protective shells as a new creation! This visual metaphor is rich with possibility for drawing parallels to the life of your church and community members. The most hopeful analogy is that the caterpillar had DNA within it already just waiting for this moment. We too have all we need to move forward in a reimagined presence in this world!
